Title: Security Engineering Generalist
Location: US-NY-New York
Targeted Required:25% travel to sites
Contract Length: 6-9 Months
Overview:
The Security Engineering Generalist will perform various activities to increase and maintain the overall security posture at the client. This hands-on role will be responsible for assisting with implementation of endpoint or network security technologies.
Responsibilities:
The Security Engineering Generalist will provide guidance and hands-on expertise for various security initiatives that are planned for implementation. Apply relevant experience in planning and implementation of security technologies including:
Endpoint Security:
perform hands on implementation and management processes and best-practices for enterprise End Point Security technologies such as Personal Firewall, Anti-Virus, Disk Encryption (including removable media encryption solutions), Data Loss Protection, System Hardening and Host-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention. Direct experience with McAfee solutions is a plus. Enterprise background in working with Windows on the desktop and servers. Background in packaging and deploying of software clients to remote systems.
OR :
Network Security – perform hands on implementation and management processes and best-practices for enterprise Network Security technologies such as firewalls, IPSec Site-to-site VPNS, IPSec and/or SSL remote access VPNs, proxies, content filtering, IDS, and network forensics tools.
Qualifications:
Experience (typically gained from 4-6 years) working in Information Security and specifically, with some of the following technologies (desired but not all required)
McAfee Endpoint
- Palo Alto Firewalls .
- Juniper VPN .
- FireEye.
- Cisco proxies .
- F5 remote access technologies .
- Netwitness .
- Netronome Network Data Loss Prevention (NDLP) .
- Strong knowledge in of all core internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc) .
- Extremely process and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision.
- General vendor management expertise and experience is a plus .
- Experience in working with or managing the relationship with a Managed Security Service Provider is a plus.
- Understanding of a global enterprise IT environments .
- General project management knowledge and experience is a plus .
Desired Education:
A degree in technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or in a related area or equivalent experience.
Desired Certifications:
CISSP, CISM, CISA and/or GIAC certification(s) are a plus
