Overview:
Solutions Architect needed to design and deliver e-mail gateway security, specifically enhancing Phishing/SPAM protection.
Contract Length: 6-12 Months
Location: San Francisco, CA
Responsibilities:
Drive planning & architecture roadmap creation & serve as a technical leader to all teams, helping to identify solutions and articulate costs, benefits, and risks to different options.
Define high level architecture and technology strategies, best practices, guidelines and standards that balance short term and long term objectives in a pragmatic manner.
Operate with a team of architects, sr. software developers and engineers
Reviews the design and implementation of architecture components and map them to the long term vision.
Participate in platform or vendor selection for all major security initiatives.
Promote best practices for and mitigates risk of scalability & security concerns.
Work with senior management to shape technology decisions around product capabilities, providing technical leadership and strategy advice.
Qualifications:
Experience (typically gained from 5-7 years) working in an Information Security role
Familiarity with perimeter security concepts and infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN concentrators, IDS/IPS, and web gateway technologies
Expertise in creating and maintaining large architectures, including modeling and application usage patterns
Hands-on technical experience with e-mail security gateways, for example: Trustwave, Proofpoint, Symantec, McAfee, or others.
Proven ability to develop architectures that incorporate high availability, operations supportability and scalability - an end to end perspective.
Experience conducting proof-of-concept, developing prototyping and building reference models.
Demonstrated track record in building and setting architecture strategy.
Experience in engineering effort/resource estimation skills with the ability of optimizing architectures in given resource constraints or when these constraints change
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Extremely process and detail oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with preparing documentation
Desired Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Desired Certifications:
CISSP, GIAC, or other security certifications highly preferred
Technical certifications involving e-mail secure gateways preferred (e.g. Cisco, Symantec, McAfee, etc.)
Other technical certifications (CCSP, CCNP, JNCIS) preferred
